In the course’s final publish step, turn on the Enable certificate toggle alongside the completion-criteria sliders. Adjust the Lesson Module, Quiz, and Assessment weightings to define how completion is calculated, then complete publishing. Learners who meet your defined criteria will receive a course completion certificate.
Overview
You will enable a course completion certificate during the final publish step and configure how learner completion is determined. This is useful when you want to recognize learners who finish the required parts of your course. The result is a published course that automatically issues a certificate when learners meet the completion criteria you set.
What you’ll need
- An existing course ready to publish
- Access to the course’s final publish step
- Clarity on how you want completion calculated (the weighting balance between Lesson Modules, Quizzes, and Assessments)
What Vocaliv does
When you enable the certificate toggle and set completion-criteria weightings, Vocaliv configures your course to track learner progress against those criteria. Once published, the course automatically awards a completion certificate to any learner who meets the completion requirements you’ve defined.
What you’ll get
- A published course with certificate issuance enabled
- Completion rules configured through Lesson Module, Quiz, and Assessment weightings
- Automatic certificate delivery to qualifying learners based on your defined criteria
How to do it
Step 1: Open the course’s final publish step
Navigate to the course you want to publish and proceed to its final publish step. This is the screen where you configure completion and certificate options before making the course live.
Step 2: Review and adjust the completion-criteria sliders
Locate the completion-criteria sliders for Lesson Module, Quiz, and Assessment. Adjust each slider to reflect the weighting balance that determines how learner completion will be calculated for your course.
Step 3: Turn on the Enable certificate toggle
Locate the Certificate control on the same screen and turn on the Enable certificate toggle. This instructs the course to issue a certificate when a learner meets the completion criteria you’ve set.
Step 4: Confirm settings and publish
Review all your settings and complete the publishing process. Once published, the course will use your selected weightings to track completion and award certificates to learners who meet the defined requirements.
What gets created
- Certificate status: whether the certificate is enabled for the course
- Completion rules: the Lesson Module, Quiz, and Assessment weightings used to determine course completion
What happens next
After publishing, the course will track learner progress against your completion-criteria sliders. When a learner meets the defined requirements, the course automatically awards a completion certificate. Certificate design or branding controls are not available in this step; only the on/off Enable certificate toggle is supported.
Tips
- Set your Lesson Module, Quiz, and Assessment weightings before enabling the certificate so that completion expectations are clear to learners.
- If you need to change completion rules or certificate availability later, return to the final publish step and update the sliders or toggle the Enable certificate setting.
